A celebration of many local talents, owners Rockbridge brought this Art Deco property to life by assembling a team of local creatives, starting with operator , a company designed to create and operate hotel, restaurant, and retail brands, together with Nashville-based architects , Nick Dryden of Dryden Architecture and Design (), and creative branding experts Peck & Company, led by Benji Peck. Together the team has masterfully preserved the historic hotel, first opened in 1930 by the Noels, a prominent Nashville family, while infusing it with an inspired energy. Thoughtful design touches carry throughout with carefully preserved architectural details from the hotel’s original design – from its restored terrazzo floors, original brass hardware, and soft pink Tennessee granite walls, to fresh touches like geometric Art Deco patterning carved into the wood ceilings in the guest rooms.
It is a property that also unites the city’s creative and artisan communities. There are so many beautiful corners and charming on-site amenities. In the lobby alone you find – the brainchild of Andy Mumma, owner of Nashville’s favourite speciality coffee house, Barista Parlor; as well as , a retail store curated by local creative consultant Libby Callaway that brings together top Nashville designers, artists, and makers to contribute unique and one-of-a-kind pieces, some of which can be found worn on the hotel staff.
Not only that, Nashville artist Bryce McCloud oversees Noelle’s art programming, which includes custom-made interactive pieces designed by McCloud and executed by the team at his local studio, Isle of Printing which, together with a rotating line-up of other local artists, are featured in the guest corridors. McCloud’s on- property experiential art space and shop, , is home to a working vintage printing press – effectively bringing printing back to Printers Alley.
