I’m always looking for ways to make little improvements to my home. Not every project needs to be big and involved because sometimes it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference. One of my irritations was medicines taking up space and creating clutter in my bathroom. So I made this easy medicine storage box diy.
Apart from making my bathroom look tidier, this medicine storage box means that you’re not digging through shelves or drawers every time you need a pain killer or plaster. And if you have a small bathroom, you can store the box elsewhere. Who says medicines can only be stored in a bathroom?

Materials:
large wooden box (mine is 35x35x17cms from
balsa wood strips (6mm thick)
sharp craft knife
wood glue
varnish
To keep the medicine box as practical as possible, I created dividers within the box. I used balsa wood strips which can easily be cut to size with a sharp craft knife. Start by deciding how many ‘compartments’ you want in your box and cut your wood to size – balsa is soft enough to cut with a sharp craft knife by scouring several times. Now simply glue the strips to the box and leave to dry.
Next, varnish the box and leave to dry. Then make the sticker – there’s a free printable above and below – just print to your vinyl sticker sheet, cut and stick on to the box.
Ever since I’ve made this medicine storage box diy, I love how easy it is for me to find whatever I need, especially plasters that are often needed in a hurry. I also love that it’s freed up shelf space and that even if your box gets messy, you can close the lid and the mess is gone!
