Hello and welcome to my newest pattern!
Having a soft spot for barefoot sandals, I wanted to make something eye-catching and fun at the same time – cue margaritas, or commonly known as daisies.

Gather your materials, sharpen your hooks and let’s start:

Supplies: cotton sport yarn in 3 colors (white, yellow and green) and an adequate hook, in this case 1.9 mm.  You will also need a sewing thread and needle to sew the margaritas to the base.

Stitchesvery basic: ch, sl st, sc, dc.

Pattern:

Floral disc

Ch 5 and join to make a ring
Rnd 1: sc5 in ring
Rnd 2: sc2 in all stitches (10)
Rnd 3: repeat rnd 2 (20)
Rnd 4:  sc1 in all st. (20)
Cut yarn, tie a knot and weave the tail.

Insert white yarn into a st. (I don’t pay attention to insert new color where I ended the floral disc of the daisy)
Row 1: ch8
Row 2: starting from 2nd ch from hook, work the following sc1, hdc1, dc3, hdc1, sc1, sl st.
Skip one, sl st in next stitch and repeat petal pattern until the end. There should be 10 petals.
Cut yarn, tie a knot and weave the tail. Make another one.

Leafy base

Ch 74. That’s 70 for the tie and 4 for the leaf.

(*if you want to tie your sandals around the ankle once or twice, then consider making a longer tie by increasing the count up to 90-100 sts.)

Next, dc 3 in the 4th st from hook. Ch4, turn work and dc 3in the first st of the chain you just made. Repeat this leaf pattern to make 5 such leaves.

After the 5th one is done, ch 20 (this is for the toe ring), sl st in 1st st of that chain, ch4 and start making leaves for the other side. When done with the leaves, chain 70 for the other tie. Tie a knot or two at the end of the crochet work of the tie to secure it and cut excess yarn off. Make another leafy base.

Pin the daisy and sew it on. I set it at the end of the base, on the last leaves. You can put it wherever you want if you are into a different look.

And that is it! Do you like these? Are you into barefoot sandals?
