Ready to make your own? It is quick and easy!

Supplies

  • Tennis ball (the cute ones I used are from Target but were only seasonal!)
  • Large adult tshirts or knit fabric (ask around for donations, people often have lots of these to give away!
  • Scissors
  • Hemostats or needle nose pliers
  • Box cutter style knife

Steps

Cut 3 strip that are approximately 42″ long and 1.5″ wide.

Tie a knot in one end and braid! Leave the other end loose for now.

Cut a slit about 1″ long in one side and then an identical one on the exact opposite of the ball. It’s better to start small and make it longer if needed, this will vary a bit depending on how thick your tshirt was but if you make it too big, pup will pull the knot right out.

Use hemostats or pliers to shove the loose tail ends all the way through.

Tie a knot, leaving the loose end free and creating a loop, and then use the pliers to thread those loose ends back through the slits to the other side.

Tie another knot and you’re done! You can either leave the loose end loose, like the pink on the left, or trim the edges and hand sew it straight like the grey on the right.
