The highly acclaimed industry awards programme recognises the most creative and considered use of colour across six categories of built work, and this year’s awards attracted a record number of entries from across New Zealand and Australia. Melbourne-based Kennedy Nolan restored and re-imagined the existing Edwardian house, adding a pavilion separated by an internal courtyard and swimming pool. Taking a formal yet whimsical approach, the interiors demonstrate unique detailing and a distinctive use of texture, colours and pattern. Beautifully balanced with the garden, the mostly neutral palette is offset by a vibrant green staircase in Dulux Dark Rainforest.
