I’ve always been inspired by the beauty of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. From the beaches to the charming towns, it’s one of my favorite parts of the world. The colonial architecture and colors in Valladolid inspired this breezy cropped pullover dubbed the . Made in lightweight cotton, it’s the perfect topper to a bikini after a day at the beach or as a weightless layer to block the sun.
Originally written as a “one size fits most” pattern, it now includes instructions on how to reduce or increase the size. This is such a simple knit but it packs some serious drama.
The is hands down one of my most popular patterns. It was designed on the same trip to Mexico, and the open, lacey stitchwork creates an airy fabric that can go from beaches of Tulum to evening cocktails and looks great over a swimsuit, cutoffs, or a dress.
Both of these patterns were designed with heat in mind and are meant to be worked up cotton or cotton blends, but you could even do them in chunkier, woolier yarn for the colder months! They are staple patterns that can easily be adjusted, and the basic shapes allow for endless stitch patterns and colorwork.
