Embroidery by Vesha Parker

Etsy software engineer Vesha Parker first began embroidery the way that many people do—through one of Sarah K. Benning’s famous patterns! From there, she started to create her own hoop art. “I definitely love learning embroidery,” she writes. “After the fun of my first project, I decided to start a series of embroidered vignettes of things that I love during the summer, and the first thing that came to mind is my CSA and trips to farmers markets.”

As Vesha improves her stitching skills, she has created more vignettes of her summer as well as experimented with materials. “I’m lucky that the fake plant section and the embroidery section are so close at the Atlantic Ave. Michael’s,” she explains, “because these plants caught my eye while thread shopping. and I decided to try something new with them.”
