May was for discovering new things, like Istanbul and its Home Textile Fair, Evteks where I got to check out the new trends in home fabrics & more.
This destination has its unique charm, you must visit Istanbul at least once in your lifetime, my favourite part was, of course, the old city one , but that’s for another pretty post. For now, I will get back to Evteks. I saw a lot of unique prints and quality textile that impressed me at Evteks, so lets get started.
Speaking about trends, as in many home decor and more industries, Greenery is very popular. From sheets to carpets, most of the fabrics had this beautiful shade that remind me of nature and I remember especially a fair both that was transformed in a tropical green oasis that really showed how relaxing this shade can be and how it blends great with earthy tones or exotic bold colors. In the same note, I felt in love with sheets and pillows with tropical fruits and and happy colors such as the lovely yellow (a recent obsession of mine).
The bohemian prints were also really popular there and how couldn’t they be, as tradition is very important in Istanbul and its really hard to choose your favourite print. The rugs or pillows in boho eclectic prints & textures can really change the whole look of a room or terrace. And don’t get me started on the bed covers or blankets. The ones with fun tassels will definitely bring a joyful vibe into a room.
So from a booth to another, we worked our way into the many corners of the fair, and each time we found a new surprise and a different styling approach for a room. We got many ideas from there and we saw, in so many different styles, how a certain fabric and pattern can change the look of a room.
Of course, Denisa and I couldn’t miss the minimal items, so a bunch of neutral patterns really caught our eye and we imagined a classy, elegant and minimal design for a bedroom, kitchen or living room.
