Alocasia with pitch black leaves and edible roots
There are many types of alocasia plant. The homeland of this unusual plant is Asia, however, in many Europe and Usa countries, subject to the necessary conditions, and it feels quite comfortable. Its leaves are capable of reaching a length of 60 cm. In shape, they are somewhat reminiscent of the ears of an elephant.

Black Magic Alokazia prefers fertile and varied soil. It is advisable to prepare a mixture in equal proportions from turf, leaf, humus soil, as well as sand and peat.
Water should be done as the soil dries up, do not overflow. In winter, watering is limited.
In general, the plant needs warmth, so even in winter it needs to provide a temperature not lower than 16 degrees, in summer – 22-26. Alocasia is very sensitive even to slight frosts, so it can be kept in the garden only from May to September.
It is also curious that the plant is healing. In alocasia, tubers (through which reproduction occurs), stems, and leaves are edible. Alocasia tincture even eliminates itching and irritation from insect bites, accelerates the healing of skin diseases.
