When it comes to making tangible the underlying principles of their concept store, Thisispaper, founders Alexander and Zuzanna were in no rush to be first at the finish line. “Our intention was to cherish both the process and its final effect; to emphasise and perfect every detail of the space”. Modesty and restriction form the pillars of their vision which you can clearly see in the aesthetic of their newest creation, A-Place. A rentable apartment that’s welcome to anybody passing through Warsaw.
DESIGN
Designing a real liveable space was always something the pair wanted to do but has taken a while to mature. Based in Warsaw, Poland, This is paper began their brand as an on and offline publication. Their first store debuted in 2015 as a space to stock their handmade accessories and organic food brand, Bottled. After three years, they can now call both of these spaces a true representation of their design and living philosophy.
Located within a once abandoned vodka distillery in Praga Polnoc, A-Place is well-positioned for a rental apartment amongst a district that’s transformed from forgotten neighbourhood to the epicentre of bustling shops, office buildings and homes through reinvention and renovation by forward-thinking investors. Visitors to Warsaw can enjoy both the apartment itself as well as the re-emergence of an iconic district that’s quickly regaining momentum.
