Designed for a professional couple with three young children, Twentieth balances a sophisticated, entertainment-oriented lifestyle with the needs of a growing, active family. The floorplan and furnishings were strategized to achieve divergent interests within a constrained space, adding custom elements throughout and unlocking the potential of a truly modern home.
The home’s public areas are anchored by two living spaces that flank a central – one formal, and one family-oriented. The formal living room is suited for entertaining. Adjacent to a walnut-clad bar, it’s swathed in a plush, rose gold cashmere rug, and arranged with sculptural furnishings – De Sede lounge chairs, Matera side table by Baxter, Alanda coffee table by . The family room is cozy by comparison – a monolithic custom stone mass coffee table, comfy, Mesa lounge chairs by Lawson Fenning, and wide, open doors to both the courtyard and the backyard make this an ideal room for the family to gather.
In the primary suite, a Cassina lounge chair and ottoman with a Scala Side Table (Stephane Paramentier) is the focal point at the end of the entry hall. The rest of the suite is outfitted with a custom headboard, bed, and side tables. The room opens to a private patio overlooking both the backyard and the home’s double-height courtyard – a secluded getaway within this busy household.
Throughout Twentieth, textures and finishes are highlighted through bespoke accents, all grounded with timeless natural stone, wood, and hand-plastered surfaces serving as canvases. Luxurious furnishings and finishes—artisan brick inside and out, walnut and oak, marble and onyx—along with punches of cool color like deep avocado and sumptuous salmon, elegantly personalize the family’s new-classic aesthetic while elevating the space from “custom, new-build” to “bespoke forever home.”
