About Apartament in Wrocław

Creating an Unforgettable Wroclaw Apartment

Located in the heart of Wroclaw, this 90m2 (295 ft2) apartment stands at the highest storey of a building on an island surrounded by water. The project was led by a functional design approach and the photoshoot did not reveal the time-consuming design stage. Much of the storage was hidden and the entrance hall features a functional cupboard that doubles as a bar.

Creating a Functional Office

To maximize the space, a wall was demolished and replaced with a glass construction in a solid, wooden frame. This provides an acoustic advantage and allows natural light to pour into the long hall. The office offers a beautiful view of the Wroclaw skyline, while the wall was originally planned to be made of steel, it was ultimately replaced with a wooden frame.

Bedroom and Bathroom Design

The bedroom entrance was also relocated for extra storage space, creating two spacious wardrobes. The apartment also features two bathrooms, one bright and feminine with a bathtub and the other dark and masculine with a shower.

A Reflection of Art

As a graduate of Warsaw’s Academy of Fine Arts, the designer was surrounded by art and included a spatial painting and pictorial form made by Robert Jaworski in the interior. The intense red colour of the painting influenced the colour palette of the apartment, with the ceiling painted red and various orange, terracotta and neutral tones featured throughout. A glass collection created by Polish designers from the 60s and 70s is also included, along with upholstered furniture from Happy Barok.

The Power of Concrete

The designer’s love of natural materials, particularly concrete, is the foundation of the aesthetic given to the interior. Concrete appears in many variations and colours, from the dining table and elastic concrete small table to the bathroom cupboard with a terazzo desktop. The walls in the entrance hall and living room are made of concrete boards and the moveable furniture features concrete elements.
