okay, so today we’re traveling virtually to the World’s Smallest Hotel with only a single room to spare, so we’re going to have to arm wrestle for it. i guarantee it will be worth the struggle because not only is it tiny, but central hotel & café in copenhagen, denmark must also be the most charming. in copenhagen, hygge means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life and this is what central hotel & café is all about. once a shoe repair shop it’s been given new life by its owner Leif Thingtved. the small single room is atop the tiny café below, known for its cute signage (hello, instagrammers!), a warm and inviting wallpapered room with wood beams and layers of cozy bedding. naturally, breakfast from below is included in your stay. located in one of my favorite neighborhoods, Vesterbro is right on the border of Frederiksberg and quite trendy, but happily clear of the touristy sections of the city. we’re going to bundle up because it’s chilly here this time of year, with a cute cropped argyle sweater, cozy scarf and wrist warmers, our favorite big black coat, bootcut jeans and cute ankle boots. don’t forget your beanie! while cozied up in your room i suggest reading The Little Book of Hygge: Danish Secrets to Happy Living a part of The Happiness Institute Series by Meik Wiking to help you learn and embrace Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga) and become happier with this definitive guide to the Danish philosophy of comfort, togetherness, and well-being. happy trails!
