Entitled Boat House and envisioned by Copenhagen-based architecture practice
The refuge ought to accommodate storage for sufficient activities thus nestling boats, bikes, kayaks, fishing gear and various tools with which one ought to explore the island and make the best of it. The living area enjoys a clean layout in which exposed wooden beams greatly contribute, cedar wood was been chosen by the architects as it was meant to highlight the naturalness pursued; cedar earns in time a silver-grey patina on the facade thus becoming neutral, unobtrusive in its landscape, it is also highly resilient to moisture, a great feat in the pursuit of longevity.
Concrete floors are used throughout to create a slight contrast with the wood`s warmth, the mineral floor plan also anchors the dwelling in its setting taking the rocky and sandy nature of the island into consideration.
The studio WE Architecture “strives to push innovative architecture forward to improve the condition of the world”. “WE” in “We Architecture” is a crucial word in their design philosophy as it is meant to en-globe communication and collaboration in the architecture practice thus ensuring a well-tailored solution for each particular setting.
