Ecological, sustainable and autonomous architect’s house
« Callignee II » is a remarkable, ecological, sustainable, and 100% autonomous house, nestled in the middle of a woodland in Australia’s beautiful Gippsland region. Designed by Hamilton Design, it was awarded for its outstanding design and conception. It is totally self-sufficient and remains comfortable, rainwater is collected on site, solar energy is collected and household waste is decomposed by means of a system buried in the ground. The walls and ceilings are made of Corten steel and the ceilings of recycled wood, as well as a large part of the floor coverings.
