If you are familiar with my blog, then you are well aware of the cycle I seem to go through when I really loved a particular pattern because I am constantly remaking the same thing (hello McCall’s M6886) – friends, today I am sharing another one of the pieces that I currently cannot get enough of!

Since McCall’s M7445 pant pattern released last year, I have not been able to get enough of this wide leg pant. I have blogged about it many times (see here and here) and for good reason – it’s fantastic. Plus, when you are friends with the designer, you cannot help but love it more! Melissa Watson has been one of my favorite pattern designers since the early 2000’s!

With that said, let’s talk about today’s look…

I have altered the pattern slightly. For this particular post, I decided to lengthen the leg and ditch the pockets. Doing so allowed me a slightly different look that I really love and by skipping the pockets, it made it a bit faster to throw together before I headed to London earlier this month. YES, I made them for my trip and sadly, no, I never got a picture in them – it was a business trip for my husband and discovery trip for me – it was truly AMAZING.

But back to the pattern alterations, it super simple…

  1.  Cut out your pant pieces, you will take the side front and front leg.

  2. Align the pieces together, pin the pieces together or retrace the pant and continue to sew the pant together and ditch all instructions for the pocket. I lined up those small circles so to make sure that the pant aligns with the pocket pattern piece.

As much get I love the pocket, I also really enjoy pant without! Additionally, I look forward to having the opportunity to add other pocket details in the future! So…. if you haven’t given McCall’s M7445 pattern a try, I would jump on it! I saw many people in London wear this similar look in plaid and deep maroon, and I plan on making more for this season.

So tell me what you think, did I get an “A+” in your fashion notebook? Have you ever altered a pattern to get rid of design details? or add design details? And do you ever get so obsessed with a pattern that you have to make a bunch of times just to get it out of your system?

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a glamorous day!
