I was talking with few people and as the year ends most people start thinking about their bucket list for 2019. I started wondering if makers and artist have something different on it form the typical: Visit Bali, buying a house, write a book etc.
I’ve asked a few of my favorite makers if they would share their bucket list with us. Each week, you will discover what’s on their list as well as few more insights.
This week we have Katie Robbins @ceramicmagpie. She is the a potter and ceramic artist, she is a mum and she also makes macrame (BTW:ceramic and macrame is my favorite combination). She develops simple porcelain shapes which are given a contemporary finish using colours which are often inspired by nature; you can also follow her hashtag #createinautumn.

Hello Katie,
thank you for taking the time to sharing with us your bucket list.
1. We are coming to the end of the year and I’m curious to know if you have a bucket list you check or fill regularly.
I have an on-going list of things in ceramics as well as in other crafts of things I’d like to try. Over the summer I had 10 avocado stones waiting to be put in some water to dye some macrame string, but I never got round to making it!
2. Can you share with us the top 3 things on your list?
1. This has to be candle-making. I’ve long wanted to put candle wax into my porcelain vessels, as I personally love candles burning in the evening; they can make a place seem so cosy. I actually bought all the soy wax last year and I’ve just made the ceramic containers today, so hopefully this one will be done quite quickly
2. on the list for 2019 has got to be a mug. It’s one of the things that most ceramacists make, but porcelain is extra awkward so the joins can be prone to cracking. Its a shape that I’m often asked to make though, so as soon as Christmas is out the way then I’m going to enjoy experimenting with that.
3. I’d love to make a teapot! Especially as I love my cup of tea so much during the morning and afternoon. So Im really looking forward to trying that out!
3. What’s on number 10?
I think probably this will be to make some avocado dye. I love the dusty pink shade that you can achieve with avocado, so I really must get on with that one!

4. If you could learn a craft in 2019, which one would you try?
I’m actually struggling to think now as I am a bit of a serial crafter and I’ve already done embroidery, jewellery, felt-making, batik, indigo dying, wreath making, succulent filled terrariums and basket making. I did start some knitting at the creativity festival during the summer and I think that would be a nice new craft to try next year – maybe!
5. If you could ask me a question, what would it be?
I’d love to understand your Instagram handle. What does TwoMe stand for?
My answer: TWO hours for ME. When I started by blog the goal was to spend two hours per day to myself practicing my crafts. That’s the story behind the name.
