Tastefully colorful and inspired by mid century modern design, these four apartment interiors offer cosy ambience like a bright embrace. Brave colour combinations build a charge of hot energy that drives the eye on a journey of discovery around each room. Stories of retro design unfold in a mix of quirky installations and unique modern touches. Personalised passions are interwoven in the thread, transpiring as a fondness of wine and a love for books. Creative kitchens are set for entertaining, or simply taking a stand as a spectacular one of a kind. These homes call for an owner with absolute individuality and artistic spirit, the colour shy need not apply.

Chic and understated, this airy city apartment features mid century inspired pieces and deeply colourful moments of cognac and teal.

An ivory area rug lays down a clean base for the lounge, which creates a light link with the bright expansive skyscape. Pale grey drapes frame the city.

A cognac coloured lounge chair builds upon the mid century modern vibe.

Artwork pulls the warm cognac colour accent around onto the focal wall.

Modern dining room pendant lights form a curvaceous complement to the round pedestal dining table.

Teal dining chairs bring a cooling element to the table’s fiery finish.

Decorative vases are casually placed around the red tabletop to create a loose centrepiece.

A column of wine storage interrupts a wall of white units behind a study desk.

The beige gloss desk makes a creamy companion for a deep cognac desk chair.

A floor to ceiling white marble support runs through the end of the desk, integrating it into the living room environment. A clear carafe shines in the light from huge windows that span the room.

A unique kitchen peninsula design builds sleek black and white interlocked form under an embellished linear suspension light

In the living room of our second home interior, a huge rug blankets the polished concrete floor. A quirky array of lounge furniture cultivates a colourful scene.

The individualistic mid century modern furniture pieces hug the perimeter of the square lounge space, arranging changing silhouettes against white and concrete walls.

The curved sofa snakes a green accent in front of mid century inspired bookcases. A small side table joins a plethora of wooden pieces in the living room scheme.

A second lounge area is home to a spiced orange sofa and plush vermillion rug. A swing arm wall lamp drops in a solo black accent.

A spindle back chair layers in the vintage feel.

Gubi Beetle chairs run a riot of red through the dining area…

… Whilst the kitchen is coloured by a set of red Drop chairs. Pink tiles and base cabinets extend rouge tones around the kitchen arrangement.

To continue the blush colour story, a club chair pops another note of pink into a royal blue bedroom design. The elegant platform bed, slim end of bed bench and plain rug make a fresh cut of white down the centre of the space.

Gold fixtures enrich a luxe white bathroom design with an unusual round skylight. A freestanding bathtub tucks into the shower enclosure to fashion one contained wet zone.

Our third tour showcases a home interior with unique design elements.

A freeform slatted ceiling panel waves a red accent over the dining area at the back of the living room to create clear zoning with creative panache. A striped rug brings the red accent into the lounge area.

Neon letters make a punchy addition to a raw brickwork wall.

Mature indoor plants grow green contrast to the red bricks and deep red decor accents.

Metal frame leather chairs and a set of black nesting coffee tables are shaped by the mid century modern era. A decorative wall mirror lightens up a large structural wall between the windows.

A bulbous glass vase echoes the glass shades of paired dining room pendant lights.

A freeform dining room rug mirrors the contoured slatted ceiling design.

An uber stylish chaise lounge chair is poised by the glorious panorama.

Dripping with novelty, this melting console table creates light play across the home entryway.

Our final tour takes place in a homey family residence with jewel tone accents.

Ruby red chairs pull up nesting mid century modern coffee tables and a unique chess set.

Enroute to the home entryway, a cube pouf complements square framework over an exposed brickwork wall.

The lounge’s wood burning fireplace is installed alongside the TV wall, which includes a well loved home library. An edge-to-edge mirrored wall reflects the neighbouring kitchen.

A long black kitchen backsplash and matching edging direct the eye toward an onyx entry door. Stainless steel cabinet doors reflect a continuous ribbon of kitchen light.

Artwork adds crowning colour to a white bedroom.

A corner vanity table and shelf unit make good use of the compact space.

Curves rule in the stylish ensuite, with a sweeping ceiling feature and a smooth wooden vanity.

The Jack and Jill bathroom has its second entry door opening from a shared kids’ room.

Tourmaline pink and sapphire blue swivel chairs pull up to a double workspace with a desk divider, and bookstacks that tower to the rafters.

The small powder room located just off the kitchen is given a personalised colourful touch with a nostalgic collection of soda cans.
