Styling The Seasons: July

Well there’s almost been too much happening this month to take in and yet it feels like a total blur and I actually can’t believe that we’re at the end of it already. After a very joyful post for June, July’s post is definitely the flip side. I was overwhelmed  with how blessed I felt last month, to the point of it making me frequently well up with thankfulness.

This month I’ve dealt with very real sadness, pain and loss and so my styled corner doesn’t look very Summery at all but in reality there has been a lot of sleeping, healing and tears filling my days of late. I will write a full post about all this next time but for now I’ll just say that whilst my mood is a contrast to June’s, terrible life events do always make me increasingly thankful. Rather than it being about my physical and tangible blessings, it comes from remembering my spiritual blessings of a future eternity with Christ. When all is stripped away, that truth is solid and never changes and for that I’m so grateful. I would never swap it.

So my styled scene is comforting. Tea and tears and our sofa that we’ve spent a lot of time curled up on in each other’s arms over the last month. I loved the light that darted in through the shutters, like a sprinkling of fairy dust over this muted scene. I like to think of it as a sprinkling of hope for brighter days ahead.
