This week is all about what’s happening in the Nordic design world at the moment, and I have chosen ferm LIVING for my first post of a special series featuring the most exciting new collections right now.

For their latest catalog, they went for a darker mood compared to the previous photoshoot, with a calm, sophisticated feel and timeless palette of mostly grey, green, burgundy, blue and black. The assortment is designed with a foundation in geometrics, staying true to the Danish brand’s signature style. You’ll find a great balance of textures and sleek surfaces, simple lines and sculptural silhouettes. I am a fan of their elevated plant pots and watering cans made from grooved galvanised steel, perfect to give an industrial chic touch to the home or office. A tall drinking glass was added to their Ripple glassware collection, as well as circular versions of their popular plant boxes. The Still teapot and the Desert tufted rug are also beautiful newcomers, and so are the Pujo coat rack and wall table. You can see them all in the Spring/Summer 2018 catalog.

“With a warm and welcoming home as our base, we find serenity in a fast-pace world. Surrounded by the comfort of our favourite things and furniture, our home is a haven away from the musts and shoulds of everyday life and a space of freedom to be grounded in the present. Cherishing the previous moments of imperfection, our home is a softly curated space of things that tell our story. An atmopsheric place full of contrasts, just like ourselves.” – ferm LIVING
