Crocheted socks are just as comfortable as knitted socks – Merion has found you five pairs you won’t be able to resist!

I love crocheted socks – they can be just as soft and squishy as knitted socks, whether you knit them in fine 4ply yarn or aran weight. As a general rule of thumb, it is better to crochet socks with natural fibres to allow your feet to perspire, preferably blended with some nylon to keep them washable and in shape. I love the featured image above of Vicki Brown Mulled Wine socks, and here are a few more of my favourites!

Just look at these sweet little socks with their shell-embellished cuffs! The cuff is super stretchy and the bulk of the sock is worked in a UK double crochet (US single crochet) with a traditional heel gusset.  You’ll need a 4ply yarn with some stretch – I would suggest West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply in Penny Royal!

Lace socks are so pretty with sandals in the summer! These little beauties are beautiful to crochet, and so elegant to wear. You will only need one skein of something glorious like Malabrigo Sock or gorgeous Coop Knits Socks Yeah!  for a pair to treasure forever!
