Cut paper collage by Clover Robin

There are many ways to “paint” that don’t use a paintbrush. Illustrator Clover Robin uses cut paper collage as a way to compose her images. To do this, she paints sheets of paper with different colors and textures and then arranges them into detailed pieces that effortlessly combine the various paper characteristics into one cohesive image. When together, the illustrations have a painterly feel despite being the work of collage.

If you’ve read Brown Paper Bag for a while, you’ll know that Clover is no stranger to it. Throughout the years, she’s given me some great sketchbook ideas and travel goals. She has a new book called Cut Paper Pictures that’ll soon be released. It’s available for pre-order now.
