On a recent trip to Michaels, I picked up a new 12″ x 12″ Halloween paper pad. That got me instantly inspired to make this super simple garland. But to do it right, I needed my We R Memory Keepers trim and score board, plus banner punch board. Both these items can be picked up at great prices on Amazon.com right HERE and HERE!
I made my garland to say “EEK”, short and sweet, but you can keep on adding on to yours with more letters and rosettes. For all the rest of the tools and materials you’ll need for this project, keep on reading below.
For each letter, trim card stock to 5″ x 6″. Insert the short end into the banner punch board to make the crest (as per the instructions). Line it up to line 7. Then punch the holes at the top.
Insert black satin ribbon through all the holes, and give your banner poster letters (which I picked up at Target).
Create the rosettes next. For one, trim two pieces of lightweight paper: one at 12″ x 2″ and the other at 6″ x 2″. Score and fold like an accordion.
Attach them together with double-sided tape.
Gently press it down flat and add hot glue to the middle to hold it in place. Make the rest of them with these steps. Then punch 1″ circles on glitter card stock. Hot glue them to the middle of the rosettes.
Finally, attach the rosettes to the ribbon between the letters with hot glue.
Total project time: about 25 minutes for a 5 pc. (3-letter) garland.
