What better way to begin spring than with flowers on a crochet pillow? So I wish to celebrate the world of spring colours with this cheerful Reversible Crochet Pillow.

¿Qué mejor forma de comenzar la primavera que con flores en un cojín a ganchillo? Así que deseo celebrar el mundo de los colores primaverales con este alegre Cojín Reversible a ganchillo. 

1. When did this Reversible Crochet Pillow idea come across? 

So long, indeed! You surely remember that I already published this below picture so much time ago, do you? All crochet pieces made and blocked, ready to assemble… And what did happen then? I left them and I don’t know why, probability because I put my hands and mind on another crochet project.

1. ¿Cuándo surgió esta idea de este Cojín Reversible a ganchillo? ¡Hace ya tanto! Seguramente recuerdas que publiqué esta foto de abajo hace mucho tiempo, ¿verdad? Todas las piezas de ganchillo  hechas y bloqueadas, listas para ensamblar… ¿Y qué sucedió entonces? Simplemente las dejé de lado y no sé muy bien por qué, probablemente porque puse mi mente y manos en otros proyectos de ganchillo.

2.  What has changed in this crochet project since then? 

Well, the only change I don’t know which side of the Reversible Crochet pillow I prefer once finished. In fact, you are seeing the pillow back side now. This is the side I’d originally thought of as its back. But now I believe that also this side looks fabulous placed on the garden bench.

2. ¿Qué ha cambiado en este proyecto de ganchillo desde entonces? Bueno, pues que, una vez terminado, no sé qué lado del Cojín Reversible a ganchillo me gusta más. De hecho estás viendo aquí el reverso del cojín, es decir, la parte que en principio ideé como su trasera. Sin embargo, ahora pienso que  este lado del cojón también se ve fabuloso colocado en el banco del jardín.

3. About this new Cable Checkboard Stitch.

That was the original idea that encouraged me to start this crochet project. I wanted to make a pillow using this new stitch which is worked in a similar way to the Waffle Stitch that I’ve seen many times on the net. But in this Cable Checkboard Stitch I got a very beautiful effect, especially when white yarn is combined with another color yarn.

3. A cerca de esta nueva Puntada de Damero en Relieve. Esa fue la idea original que me animó en su momento a comenzar este proyecto de ganchillo. Quería hacer un cojín empleando esta nueva puntada que se trabaja de un modo similar a la Puntada Waffle que he visto en muchas ocasiones en la red. Pero en esta Puntada de Damero en Relieve se consigue además un efecto muy bonito, sobre todo cuando se combina hilo blanco con hilo de otro color.

4. Data of the Reversible Crochet Pillow project

• Measure: 40 x 40 cm (15.75″ x 15.75″)
• Hook: 3 mm
• Material: 100% Sport cotton yarn, Anchor Creativa, Anchor Crafts
• Cable Checkerboard Stitch side: Green 0402 50g, Blue 0173 50g, Pink 0398 50g, Peach 0363 50g, Ivory 0105 20g.
• Flowers side: Green 402 100g, Ivory 0105 50g, Violet 0108 10g, Dark Violet 0282 10g, Red 1333 10g, Peach 0363 10g, Pink 0222 10g, Pink 0398 10g, Orange 0386 10g.
• I worked the pillow front completely on Cable Checkboard Stitch.
• The back side is formed by two pieces: one piece completely worked in double crochet stitches in Green 0402 yarn, over which I sewed the crochet Flowers and Stems with Leaves. And a second piece also worked in double crochet in Ivory 0105 yarn. This second piece is finished with several single crochet “blo” rows and combining Ivory yarn and several yarn colors.

4. Datos del Cojín Reversible a ganchillo.

• Medidas: 40 x 40 cm
• Aguja: 3 mm
• Material: Hilo de algodón 100% Sport, Anchor Creativa, Anchor Crafts
• Cable Checkerboard Stitch side: Green 0402 50g, Blue 0173 50g, Pink 0398 50 g, Peach 0363 50g, Ivory 0105 20g.
• Flowers side: Green 402 100g, Ivory 0105 50g, Violet 0108 10g, Dark Violet 0282 10g, Red 1333 10g, Peach 0363 10g, Pink 0222 10g, Pink 0398 10g, Orange 0386 10g.
• Trabajé la parte delantera completamente en la Puntada de Damero en Relieve.
• La parte trasera está formada por dos piezas: una pieza completamente trabajada en puntos altos o varetas con hilo Verde 0402 sobre la que cosí las Flores y Tallos con Hojas a ganchillo. Y una segunda pieza también trabajada en puntos altos o varetas con hilo color Marfíl 0105. Esta segunda pieza está terminada con varias vueltas de punto bajo “blo” combinando hilo de varios colores con el marfil.

Now I’m going to tell you about some other things that have been or are right now on my work table. For example, these Mini Mary Janes which I recently crocheted to make a necklace as a gift for a young future mom.

Os quiero contar además algunas cosas que han estado o están ahora mismo sobre mi mesa de trabajo. Por ejemplo, estos Mini Mary Janes que tejí para hacer un collar de regalo para una joven futura mamá.

While I was crocheting the Mini Mary Janes I still didn’t  know if the baby would be a boy or a girl.

Cuando tejí los Mini Mary Janes aún no sabía si el bebé sería niño o niña.

Now we know that the baby will be a boy, so I’m busy crocheting things for him that I hope to finish in time before he borns. I’ll tell you more about this matter in future posts.

Ahora ya sabemos que será niño, así que ando ajetreada tejiendo cositas para él que espero terminar a tiempo antes de que nazca. Os iré contando más sobre esto asunto en próximos post.
