The latest project to leave
While built nearly sixty years ago, Residence du Rocher has remained contemporary in appearance. Characterised by angled facades that maximise the influx of light, the clients did not wish to alter the overall structure but instead, rethink how each space interacts within it.
The clients requested an open plan layout, so APPAREIL architecture removed the ground floor’s partitions for a consistent view to the rear. This has allowed for increased fluidity within the home and a welcoming atmosphere, letting family informally gather at the custom marble and steel kitchen island or in the neighbouring dining space.
Residence du Rocher is a tapestry of natural materials in a variety of finishes, from the exposed stone staircase, to the timber cabinetry, slate, terrazzo and marble. APPAREIL Architecture worked hard to source elements from local artisans, such as the tailor-made cabinetry,
