In France on May 1, everyone passes out mini bundles of Lily of the Valley to celebrate May Day. We love that idea, so we decided to make these paper Lily of the Valley bouquets! Our version will last forever, so you can make a bunch in advance to surprise all of your friends! Materials needed: Crepe Paper in cream and moss green, scissors, floral paddle wire, wire cutters, floral tape, stem wire

Step 1: Cut out 2” by 1.5” rectangles out of the cream crepe paper so that the grain of the paper runs from top to bottom. Scallop the top edge of the crepe paper with scissors. We made around 100 flowers total, so make a bunch of these.

Step 2: Grasp the middle of both sides of the scalloped crepe paper with both thumbs and stretch the crepe paper so the sides of the crepe paper curve up and inward.

Step 3: Cut a bunch of 5 inch pieces of floral wire with wire cutters.

Step 4: Roll the curved crepe paper so that the sides overlap to create a bell-shape and lightly twist the bottom together. Wrap floral wire a few times around the twisted section to secure.

Step 5: Cut a piece of floral tape and wrap it around the base of the flower and stem, fully covering the wire-wrapped section.

Step 6: Wrap that same flower with more floral tape, over the part you taped in Step 5, and continue until only 1 inch of the wire stem is exposed. Add a stem wire and keep wrapping to join the two together. Wrap two more inches down the floral stem. Wrap another flower and then add it to the stem wire. Repeat the process with 4 more flowers.

Step 7: Cut a leaf shape out of green crepe paper. Wrap floral tape around the stem wire a few times, add in the leaf, and continue wrapping.

Step 8: Bend the individual flower stems downward to achieve the look of a lily of the valley.

You can leave your flower branch as is or combine two branches with floral tape for a bigger bunch. Put your flowers in a pretty vase or hand them out to loved ones. Enjoy!
