Louis Poulsen just released a Panthella mini version, a smaller variant of the well known design by Verner Panton and I was of course very happy to be able to try it out in our home. I have been moving it around the house and love to chique, yet cozy look it gives to every room.

The original Panthella lamp was designed in 1971 and is available as a table and a floor version. Verner Panton was ahead of his time with the use of materials like plastic, fiber glass, steel and plexi. When the original lamp was designed however, the production techniques didn’t allow a metal shade to be possible, even though that was the designers original intention. The Panthella mini now features a metal shade after Panton’s original drawings, which directs the light downwards and creates a soft and comfortable light for a very cozy. The LED light can be dimmed in three stages as well which I like a lot.

The lamp is available in eleven different colors, inspired by the colors of Panton’s latest project, the exhibition ‘Light and Color’ from 1998 in Design museum Trapholt. Danish nail polish manufacturer FNUG designed a nail polish in each of the eleven colors, so you can match your nail color to your lamp.

This  blogpost was created with the kind support of Louis Poulsen.
