Christmas is my favorite holiday. It’s filled with joy, Christmas songs, happy kid faces opening their presents and the food!

Our Christmas traditions involve an advent calendar that we just recently added to our own traditions. The idea of getting a little surprise gift each day until Christmas was just perfect for her. My kids also love to find out what’s in their stockings on Christmas Day. They also love waking up to Santa’s presents which I wrap in a very different paper and hide till the morning. Other traditions of our little family is matching PJs for all.

A few days before Christmas we prep our traditional food that we make on Christmas Eve. That includes Tamales, Bunuelos, and our Christmas ponche that we sometimes spike just for the adults. Our families live far away so every year, we open Christmas presents at midnight with family over FaceTime. We end up Christmas Eve cuddling, sipping hot cocoa while watching movies all night while kids play with their toys until they are too tired of playing.

This year we decided to adopted and new Holiday tradition that my kiddos have never heard before. I read her the story of Elf On The Shelf, and she was very intrigued. She was too excited for the day that our newest member of the family to appear in our home for the very first time.

Elf on The Shelf is now a part of our Christmas traditions and hoping to continue this every year and make memories together with our kids. Adopt an Elf at your nearest location. Visit for information and sorry behind Elf On The Shelf.
