As you might remember I’ve been writing about and their custom made kitchens made out of bamboo before. Recently they finished a new project here in Oslo and it looks amazing. The newly built house has lots of natural light in the kitchen and a golden variant of the bamboo called Grain was chosen. Ask og Eng chose to emphasize the architectural lines throughout the house, especially the pitched roof in the kitchen who has custom made cabinets on the entire wall. To be able to reach the top cabinets it was designed an all bamboo ladder for the purpose. It blends perfectly in with the rest of the interior.
In addition to the made to measure kitchen, Ask og Eng also built a glass pantry for the family to store all of their favorite items. The bamboo in combination with black details, light wooden floor and the white backdrop looks warm, nordic and very welcoming. Notice also how they’ve combined bamboo with wallpaper of straw (looks very much like Biritapet) in the custom made home office, last photo. Very well done!
