on trend: wood paneled kitchens are where it’s at.
whether it’s a mid-century modernist’s dream come true or a little bit more on the rustic cabin vibe, i’m seeing a whole lotta wood-paneled kitchens around the internets and in design magazines these days. and it’s a really interesting mix of a Scandinavian meets Japanese design aesthetic and i gotta say i quite like it. with the right architecture, it has a very clean, but inviting and warm vibe. and the built-in cabinetry is certainly functional but oh so pretty and i’m having some very nostalgic flashbacks to my childhood home’s kitchen counters and barstools, too — it’s where i learned to cook by osmosis, watching my mom do her culinary magic while i did my homework. add some big open windows or glass slider doors and it feels almost like inviting the outside right inside and you’re cooking up your meals in a treehouse before you know it. i’ve rounded up some looks i love along with some kinda groovy kitchen accouterment to get the look.
