Of Course Chip and Jo’s Baby Has the Chicest Nursery
The only thing we were more eagerly anticipating than the arrival of Chip and Jo’s fifth baby? The baby in question’s nursery, of course. And now, a little over a week after Crew Gaines was born, Jo is blessing us all with a sneak peak into the space.
As with most of the HGTV star turned lifestyle guru’s announcements, this one came via Joanna’s Instagram.
“It’s been a little over a week and he’s settling in just fine,” writes the new(ish) mom in the caption.
And while we hope this is only the first glimpse into a soon-to-be-revealed-in-full space—maybe a dedicated nursery section in Joanna’s upcoming design book?—the corner is already chock full of great design choices… as is to be expected, we guess, when your parents are the First Couple of Design.
The pale gray-blue color is serene, creating a calming atmosphere to offset the probable chaos that comes with a newborn. It’s also a timeless option that will grow with baby Crew—and it’s worth noting this choice bears a striking resemblance to Sherwin Williams’ trending Stardew hue.
Another trend the design couple are clearly still fans of? The fiddle leaf fig craze. Theirs comes in what appears to be a large terracotta pot. While we don’t know the exact make of the planter (maybe we should start a petition for Chip and Jo to add a gardening section to their already extensive Target line?), online plant shop Greenery NYC has a similar option you can get with a fiddle leaf tree already planted.
As for the furniture, the defining characteristic of every piece is how classic it is. Chip and Jo veered away from the cutesy style that often defines nursery decor, and instead opted for simple, classic pieces that look both durable and stylish. One eagle-eyed commenter even tracked down the baby bouncer, which is from a company called Smallable and retails for $251. Sustainably produced from cotton and walnut wood, the emphasis on this product (and the rest of Crew’s new digs) is clearly about quality.
The new space may be curiously devoid of shiplap, but Chip and Jo’s signature casual, sophisticated style shines through. Don’t mind us while we eagerly refresh the new parents’ Instagram pages for a second peek into the nursery.
