We’re bringing comfort and calm to the fore with our edit of bedroom blankets and throws; each lovingly made using natural fibres.

The soft and tactile quality of a throw or blanket captures exactly what we seek from our private, quiet spaces. Opting for natural fibres such as wool, cashmere or cotton, we’ve brought together our favourite examples of breathable, lightweight blankets and throws for the bedroom, ready to be called on in the summer months.

est living ondene bou throw 05

The Society Limonta Bou Throw from Ondene is made from soft alpaca and wool, with the aim of bringing a fashion lens to ‘home courture’. Alpaca fleece is silky, and hypoallergenic and warmer than sheep’s wool. The two fibres have been combined to create a tactile melange effect, with frayed hems and a natural threaded pattern.

Stark House by Park Associates

A collaboration with eminent UK designer John Pawson, the Tekla Merino Blanket is part of a collection of blankets made from superfine Merino wool, featuring white and beige patterns inspired by the designer’s home in the Oxfordshire countryside.

The Viso Tapestry Blanket is as much a cotton blanket as it is a piece of art woven into German Jacquard looms. The blanket reflects hand-finished American craftsmanship passed down through generations, influenced by European wall tapestries.

The Missoni Home Perseo 170 throw is made from wool and cashmere, featuring the Italian design house’s striking, signature jacquard pattern. Combined with wool, the cashmere lends softness and longevity to the throw.

The Bedouin Societe Perla Blanket is crafted from hand-loomed pure wool and mohair, with finger fringes. Mohair, the fleece of Angora goats, brings a lightness to the throw, and while it’s insulating, it doesn’t absorb heat – making it an ideal blanket in summer.
