Introducing new pieces across furniture, lighting and accessories, continues to tell a story of Connected Spaces. A concept that reflects an exciting shift in our rapidly changing landscape, where the distinctions between home and work have blurred, MENU highlights opportunities to create human, multi-functional environments. Workplaces that make us feel right at home, and homes with all the comforts and refinements of boutique hotels. Cafés, shops, restaurants, and hotels that feel curated to our desires and aspirations. This is depicted beautifully in the MENU’s new creative destination at , a collaborative, hybrid space in Copenhagen that fuses co-working and event facilities with a café, restaurant and retail area, as well as an exclusive hotel residence. I recently shared a little about The Audo , and today I’m sharing a closer look at some of the new collection pieces from the well-loved Danish brand.
Equal parts elegance and ease, the new designed by Norm Architects and Els Van Hoorebeeck features a minimal modern frame and supportive angled backrest for exceptional sitting comfort. Designed to enhances interior spaces rather than demanding attention in a room, the fully customisable chair melds beautifully with its surroundings – whether at home in a cosy living room corner or placed in a hotel lobby or office reception.
Reworking the dimensions of the popular JWDA Table Lamp to create a pared-back light with a bold personality, the new by Jonas Wagell is the latest addition to the series. The simple, standalone design merges contrasting elements to elegant effect; set on a stem of bronzed, brushed or solid brass, the shade is formed from opal glass into an elliptical shape, while the base retains its characteristic form, crafted form marble with gently rounded edges and punctuated with a decorative dimmer switch in brushed or bronzed brass. Conveying a sense of familiarity and warmth, the JWDA Floor Lamp illuminates any setting with bold elegance. I particularly love the travertine base!
A tribute to the beauty of marble, MENU’s Plinth collection is extended with the addition of Calacatta Viola – an off-white marble with striking rose veining. Equal parts beautiful and timeless, the marble plinth is a sculptural piece in its own right, as well as a sophisticated platform for whatever objects rest upon it. Designed by Norm Architects, Plinth Calacatta Viola comes in cubic, tall, and low versions.
Already available in multiple iterations – from a comfortable dining chair to a sophisticated swivel-base chair, the Harbour Collection by Norm Architects gains a new member – the . A sculptural piece with a minimalist expression, the solid yet lightweight construction retains all the hallmarks of its predecessors, while adding laid back comfort to the collection. Ideal for relaxing into after a long day, it features the collection’s characteristic curving armrests and a luxuriously oversized seat complete with a corresponding cushion.
Introducing several new accessories with this collection, first up is the by Gabriel Tan. Inspired by the spiralling movement of air, often seen through smoke or mist, the vase brings a sculptural appeal to surfaces. Taking its name from the Latin word for air or vapour, the vase’s asymmetrical silhouette undulates in liquid-like waves to bring a tactile, almost ethereal quality to the glass. Offered in two sizes, high or low, the sculptural design is ideal paired in twos to display flowers or branches, yet looks equally beautiful as standalone sculpture.
To create the , Copenhagen-based design studio Krøyer Sætter-Lassen investigated how an entire frame could surround a mirror without detracting from the beauty and reflection of the glass. The result is a refreshingly simply mirror in bronzed or polished brass and light-reflecting glass which defines a space with its soothing and sophisticated round shape.
Another new accessory by Krøyer Sætter-Lassen is the , which takes its name from the Latin word for “extend”. Doing exactly that, by loosening the screw on its slender stem, the height can be adjusted as the candle burns. Cast in polished or bronzed brass and detailed with rattan enfolded around its lower half, the simple yet impactful design brings a sense of intimacy and warmth to its surroundings.
And finally, the new by Nina Bruun celebrates natural materials through a textural combination of undyed wool fibres and an unexpected weaving technique that brings depth and complexity to the design. The Gravel Rug is available in two beautiful neutral shades, Grey and Ivory.
