MY INSTAGRAM STORIES // FEBRUARY

January went by so quickly and I didn’t even put up my stories on the blog. Quickly summed up I was settling in (still is!) in my new home with the two small ones above. I can’t remember seeing as much snow as we have right now ever before in the city, it doesn’t effect everyday life but if you ever had an imaginary picture of Norwegians skiing in the streets that has been fully possible the last two months. We are not though, but kids are loving all the snow! And it do make a beautiful backdrop for photos.

When not unpacking it felt like Ikea became my second home for a short period. Anyone recognizing the feeling? Moving means a lot of visits at Ikea, at least for me it does. Then there is Stockholm. Always in the beginning of February, when the entire furniture- and design business gathers in the Swedish capital to show off the latest designs, get an overview over upcoming trends and celebrate each other for a whole week. Our own Northern showed their new collection for the first time, a collection of both furniture, accessories and lighting. Northern (former Northern Lighting) showed that a transformation from all lighting to a lifestyle brand can be done in a very successful way. More about Northerns new collection here.

The almost secret venue where the Ariake collection was shown went viral immediately (below, right). From the media coverage of the exhibition you might think the place was packed but as the name of the exhibition said, A quiet reflection, it was one of the best experiences during Design Week. The calm atmosphere in the apartment, whispering voices and sighs over how everything was so well curated and displayed.  Of course they wanted this to be all over the web, but the attention Ariake got was well deserved. The exhibition was held in collaboration with My Residence and Wästberg and talented Annaleena Leino did the set design, read more here. Both Norwegian Anderssen & Voll, Danish Norm Architects and Swedish Staffan Holm contributed with designs for the Japanese collection of furniture.
