If you live, sleep, breath and eat art – have we found the home of your abstract dreams. A home that could have been designed by Picasso himself, the Minima Apartment exudes a cubist atmosphere. Located in Kiev, Ukraine the apartment is every bit as elegantly (and eclectic) European as you would expect – design conscious and functional in an appealing and visually pleasing way.

Minimalist and sleek, with lots of clean, straight lines, the design is direct but eye-catching. Neutral tones combined with natural lighting and large ceilings add to the open, flowing feel of the apartment. Natural wood plays a large role throughout, with timber floorboards running through the rooms and streamlined wooden cabinetry and accents in the bedroom and bathroom. Large windows overlooking the city skyline wrap around the home, surrounded by grey curtains.

The kitchen, tucked away but not overlooked, is bright and a perfect size. Its sophisticated marble splashback draws your attention from the white cabinetry and wood, with sleek silver tapware peeking out in front. The bathroom incorporates marble tiles paired with wooden shelving and storage, and boasts a bidet, waterfall showerhead and an intricate floor to ceiling mirror. Modern industrial lighting fixtures are featured throughout the home and add a sense of contemporary glamour.

The furnishings throughout the home add a layer of character to the space. The grey sofas wind their way through the lounge towards the curtains, drawing the eye towards the contrasting tones. The plush and inviting area is centered with a marble coffee table, shaped almost like a puzzle piece. Accents of modern art throughout all the rooms and industrial tables and lamps add the final touches to this apartments’ sleek and design-forward aesthetic.

The designers purposely went for a minimal approach with these interiors to inspire the future residents. “We created a background and the future pastime of our clients who will live there will complement the interior. And it was the main reason and the main role in this apartment we worked with.” A timeless and elegant blank canvas that is waiting to inspire creativity just by living in it, the Minima Apartment lives up to its name in design but goes beyond in attitude.

“When we created this project we wanted all details to be in balance with each other. White and glossy surfaces balance with the natural wooden ones, dark fabric of sofas and curtains balance with the surrounding colours and play the role of the contrast elements”
