With unparalleled views of the spectacular Sydney Harbour, having an interior that complimented the location was a must for the homeowners. To achieve this, they knocked down walls to create a more open plan style of kitchen and living areas, and subdivided the main bedroom to allow for a
Functionality was a large factor when redesigning the homes interior. The small guest bedroom needed to act as both a space for when the client’s guests or children visit and also a home office. The designers cleverly disguised a wall bed made from custom cabinetry that meant that space can act as both a bedroom and a study interchangeably. “The guest bedroom, a practice in small space planning, is a little jewel with its petite size but sophisticated palette’, Jillian Dinkel Design tell us.
At the request of the design-shy clients, a simple and refined palette was chosen. White-on-white cabinetry was used for the kitchen to create a fresh and open aesthetic and allowed the spectacular harbourside views be the focal point. The darker toned timber flooring and natural stone patterned tiles in the bathroom offered a warm and organic ambience. The bespoke touch of brushed brass seen on the cabinetry handles, tapware and various styling items add a touch of luxury and colour to this white oasis.
Jillian Dinkel Design prove that downsizing doesn’t have to be boring; in fact, we’d say this home proves the opposite! A simple yet sophisticated palette combined with picturesque harbourside views make for a home that the clients may find very hard to leave each day.
