LIVINGROOM UPDATES

A couple of weeks ago I finally painted my window frames in the living room. I’ve wanted to for a long time, especially since I chose to paint the skirting boards the same color as the walls during my renovations. With all the decisions needed to be made in a really short time I did what I thought was the safe option – white window frames (last photo). They are beautiful painted in white too but what a difference it makes when the entire wall including skirtings and frames has the same color. The room gets a new dimension and actually looks a bit bigger, imagine if I had also painted the ceilings! With a bright color like this one I actually could have done that too. Not being too ambitious the windows is a perfect weekend to-do and during summer time its so easy when the windows can be let wide open until the paint is completely dry.

The color for both the walls, skirtings and window frames is called LADY 1016 Blek Sand. Lady Supreme Finish Matt for skirtings and frames, Lady Pure Color for walls.

It may look like some part of the window is left white in the photo above but everything is painted in the light grey-beige color. See how much the light can trick the eye to make it seem like the frame of the open part of the window is white. The magic of light and how it effects and changes the interior throughout the day.. Painting everything in the same color is a great tip if you feel the windows divides the wall or the entire room into different parts and you’re looking for a more unified expression. Result, a more elegant and modern looking room.
