DIY Indigo Paper Bowls Tutorial | @fallfordiy

So by now you guys know how much I love taking something old and unused and making into an (almost) brand new a beautiful item instead. Not only is this much better for our little planet, but it also means you don’t have to go out buying new materials. Sometimes I spend as much as I would on a ready made product just to get the supplies together. And while that can really be worth it to get the perfect creation, you might just want a quick, inexpensive accessory that is made from something you are going to throw away anyway.

Instructions

Fill the blender with shredded paper. Add roughly one cup of glue and three cups of water. Replace the lid and blend, adding more water if the mixture keeps getting stuck. Once you have a smooth mulch consistency add the dye and blend again.

Using an old wooden spoon (you don’t mind never using for food again) and smooth the mixture out onto the sieve, pressing it against the mesh and squeezing the excess water out. Cover the whole mesh area as even as possible and leave to dry in a warm place for a few days.

Once the paper is dry carefully peel it off the sieve and trim the edge. If you want a smoother surface use a fine sandpaper over the inside of the bowl.
