Since its launch four years ago Australian brand Klaylife is the name that has become synonymous with stunning hand made, clay bead chandeliers. Working with local and artisans and stylists, their latest collection was created in collaboration with Melbourne’s Elena Martorella of Three Queens Interiors. Interweaving Elena’s signature intricate and creamy macramé work with Klaylife’s soft grey toned clay beads, the stunning pieces have been beautifully styled against the sriking backdrop of a former church. The result feels truly epic, with the architectural features and scale of the venue perfectly offsetting the dramatic sizes and shape of the Klaylife chandelier collection.

Klaylife has made a big impact on the global style community with their hand made chandeliers. By providing a bespoke experience and unique product, they are at the same time creating and safe guarding jobs for the indigenous people of a remote community in South Africa’s Kwazulu Natal, who rely on the income to support their families. Fittingly (since every chandelier is hand made with love), the collection was released yesterday on Valentine’s Day.

With a romantic and delicate aesthetic, the new collection of chandeliers are ideal for bedrooms or lofty spaces where you want a softer look. The Klaylife palette sees the introduction of a deep ink tone which can be applied as monotone colourway – perfect for moody deep toned spaces – but it also anchors a spectacular ink-indigo-denim-white-ombré which is versatile and can be styled to suit everything from beachy interiors to more sophisticated room scapes. Meanwhile favourite shapes like the Dome have been extended to include a charcoal pale-grey-white-ombré option.

The incredible campaign showcasing each of the new designs and colourways was created by the brand’s favourite creative duo, Photographer Armelle Habib and Art Director/Stylist (and Klaylife design collaboration alumni) Jacqui Moore. Photographed and filmed at The Establishment’s newly opened studio in Melbourne’s Fitzroy, the former church hall provides a spectacular backdrop for the new collection. With soaring ceilings, it is flooded with light which pours through its high windows creating dramatic shadows among the ecclesiastic arches and columns.

In celebration of the launch Klaylife have created a video series called ‘Styled by’. Here’s a look at the first episode, an interview with the incredibly talented Stylist/Creative Director Jacqui Moore who shares her vision for the shoot and further insight into the creative process.
