“With huge skyscrapers growing around us, the world’s turning into a concrete jungle. But that’s where plants add a bit of the natural respite that one needs in a city life or anywhere for that matter. Starting today, we find out more about the commonly seen plants and yet know not much about them.

Take the coconut palms, for example. Coconut palm, tree of the palm family, is one of the most important crops of the jungle & tropics. The slender, leaning, ringed trunk of the tree rises to a height of up to 20-25 mt from a swollen base and is surmounted by a graceful crown of giant feather-like leaves. How majestic!! Think about it… This one’s a fast-growing tree and can reach a maximum height of 25 meters.

If you do intend to have them in your chosen area, the care instructions would require – need for medium sun, wind protection and high water usage. Though it’s good to note that in places like Dubai, these plants do not bear fruits. Now with just that as part of the care routine, it’s relatively less fussy of the palm family. ”
