I am not a letterer, but I am often enthralled by the letterforms that illustrators and graphic designers create. One of my favorite projects they participate in is 36 Days of Type, which essentially challenges a letterer to design their own alphabet and numbers one through nine. Jillian Goeler completed this project with an illustrative twist. Her designs include motifs such as hands, florals, and cacti that are arranged to create letterforms. Coupled with her use of color, they have a retro vibe.

Jillian sells her work as prints, buttons, stickers, and more in her Etsy shop. Follow her on Instagram to see what she’s up to next.
