Many crocheters have already discovered how fun it is to share their projects and WIPs with the
Here are some step-by-step instructions to get your first project uploaded:
First, you will need to click the Join/Sign In button on the very top right corner of the LoveCrochet.com homepage.
If you don’t have an account, you can register for one here, and if you do you can simply enter your email address and password.
Then, head over to the Community section of the site.
It’s front and center, so it’s easy to find.
Now, we’ll get started adding a project.
Give your project a name, and tell us a little bit about it.
It’s great to give your project a creative, cute, or witty name, just remember to include what it is in the title. “Easy Wind” doesn’t tell us what the project is. It will help people find your pattern if you call it “Easy Wind Scarf” instead.
Did you use a pattern?
If you used an indie designer, or a brand’s pattern, you can search for it and simply link your project with the pattern. Select the pattern you used so that when fellow makers see your amazing finished projects in their feed, they’ll be able to make it themselves! If the pattern you used isn’t on LoveCrochet, you can always add it by clicking the tab on the right.
If your project has a promotion or event associated with it, you can add a HotTag.
We’ve hosted all kinds of fun competitions using
The fun part: add some photos!
Time to show off your work of art with some photos! For some great tips on taking better photos you can read
After you add photos, head to the project story tab.
Tell us more about your project…
Don’t be shy, tell us more! Who did you make it for? What was the inspiration behind the project? Is it still a work in progress or has it already been completed? You can even add a start and finish date to let people know how long it took you!
…and scroll down to give others some helpful information.
Decide whether your project should be considered a beginner, intermediate, or advanced pattern, and who or what it’s for. It will help your followers decide whether they should make it themselves too!
Next, head to the “Yarns” tab on the left.
Click on “Add Yarn” and enter the yarn you used into the search bar. After you click on the yarn, hit “Select and Continue”
Choose your colors.
After you choose your yarn, you will have the option to choose which color or colors of the yarn you used. (If you used more than one color you’ll need to add each one separately).
What size did you make?
Head to the “Measurements” tab on the left, and enter the size of your project. You can add any comments at the bottom, like if it finishes a bit larger or smaller than the pattern suggest.
Go to the “Needles and Hooks” tab.
Let us know what size hooks you used. Maybe the project called for a 7mm hook, but you wanted tighter stitch so you used a 6mm hook. This is the place to let everyone know!
In the “Accessories” tab, you can tell us what else you needed to make this project.
This is where you can add stitch markers, stitch holders, buttons, and other accessories. Make sure you click “Save changes” when you finish.
You can now view your project by clicking on the “My projects” tab at the top of the page – and it will appear in your follower’s feeds for all to admire!
