How to decorate a summer bag with crochet, free pattern

Hello, dears! This time I’m going to show you how to make a customized summer bag with a super easy and quick to do crochet motif, including written instructions and chart.

¡Hola a todas! Esta vez voy os a mostrar cómo hacer un capazo de verano personalizado con un motivo de ganchillo muy fácil y rápido de hacer, incluyendo instrucciones escritas y gráfico.

A estas alturas no os cuento nada nuevo si os digo que los capazos decorados son la tendencia de esta temporada. Me los encuentro por todas partes y yo misma ya he hecho algunos como podéis ver aquí y aquí.

I don’t tell you anything new when I say that the decorated baskets are the trend this season. I find them everywhere and I’ve already made some of them as you can see here and here.

Ya sea que queráis reciclar vuestro capazo del año pasado o que estéis pensando compraros uno para esta temporada, con muy poco hilo y en nada de tiempo podéis tener un capazo como el que os muestro.

Whether you wish to recycle your last year summer bag or that you’re thinking to buy a new one for this season, you can get a summer bag like this in no time and with very little yarn.

He usado 4 colores de mi gusto, pero vosotras podéis elegir la combinación de colores que prefiráis.

I’ve made this crochet motif in 4 colors that I like, but you can choose your favorite color scheme.

US English terms Written instructions

SKIL LEVEL: Beginner

MATERIAL: Cotton yarn SMC-Catania Fine (green, orange, pink and white)

HOOK: 1.9 mm

MEASURE: 7 cm diameter aprox. (3” diameter aprox.)

Note: If you work with another crochet hook or a different thickness thread, measures could not coincide.

Abbreviations:

sl.st.: slip stitch

ch/s: chain / chains

sc: single crochet

dc: double crochet

2dc-tog: 2 dc closed together

3dc-tog: 3 dc closed together

3chs-sc-picot: 3-chains picot closed with 1 sc in the first ch

st / sts: stitch / stitches

rnd: round

prev: previous

rep **: repeat from * to *

Begin with an adjustable ring in green yarn.

Round 1: Ch 3 (counted as first dc in this rnd) and make 15 dc in the ring. Adjust the ring and join to the first dc of this rnd with 1 sl. st. Fasten off.

Round 2: Change to orange yarn, insert the hook between 2 dc, ch 1 + make 1 sc + ch 1; *insert the hook in the next space between dc stitches, make 1 sc and ch 1*; rep ** until the end of the rnd. Join to the first sc of this rnd with 1 sl.st. Fasten off.

Round 3: Change to white yarn, insert the hook in the first sc of prev rnd and ch 5 (the first 3 chs count as first dc in this rnd); *make 1 dc in the next sc of prev rnd and ch 2*; rep ** until the end of the rnd. Join to the first sc of this rnd with 1 sl.st. Fasten off.

Round 4: Change to pink yarn, insert the hook in space under any 2 chs of prev rnd to take a loop and ch 2 (counted as first dc of the first 3dc-tog in this rnd) and make 2dc-tog for completing this first 3dc-tog; ch 3; *skip the next dc, make 1 3dc-tog in the next chs space and ch 3*; rep ** until the end of the rnd. Join to the first sc of this rnd with 1 sl.st. Fasten off.

Round 5: Change to white yarn, insert the hook in any 3-chs space of prev rnd to take a loop, ch 1 and make 3 sc; *make 1 3-chs-sc-picot in the next 3dc-tog of prev rnd, and make 3 sc in the next 3-chs space*; rep ** until the end of the rnd. Join to the first sc of this rnd with 1 sl.st. Fasten off. And done!

Make as many circles motifs as you need to surround your basket.

Finally, sew the circular crochet motifs to the basket and make the tassels.

MATERIAL: Hilo algodón SMC-Catania Fine(Verde, Naranja, Rosa y Blanco)

AGUJA: 1.9 mm

MEDIDAS: 7 cm diámetro aprox. (3” diámetro aprox.)

Nota: Si trabajas con otra aguja o hilo de diferente grosor, las medidas pueden no coincidir.

Abreviaturas:

cad: cadeneta

pe: punto enano o raso

pb: punto bajo

pa: punto alto

2-pa-tog: 2 pa cerrados juntos

3-pa-tog: 3 pa cerrados juntos

3-cad-picot+pb: picot de 3 cad, cerrado con 1 pb en la 1ª cad

pto/ ptos: puntos / puntos

vta: vuelta

prev: previo / a

rep **: repetir de * a *

Empezar con un anillo ajustable en hilo de color verde.

Vuelta 1: Hacer 3 cad (cuentan como el primer pa de esta vta) y hacer 15 pa en el anillo. Ajustar el anillo y unir al primer pa de la vta con 1 pe. Cortar y rematar.

Vuelta 2: Cambiar a hilo color naranja, insertar la aguja entre 2 pa, hacer 1 cad + 1 pb + 1 cad; *insertar la aguja en el siguiente espacio entre 2 pa, hacer 1 pb + 1 cad*; rep ** hasta el final de la vta. Unir al primer pto de la vta con 1 pe. Cortar el hilo y rematar.

Vuelta 3: Cambiar a hilo de color blanco, insertar la aguja en el primer pb de la vta anterior y hacer 5 cads (las 3 primeras cads cuentan como el primer pa de esta vta); *hacer 1 pa en el siguiente pb de la vta anterior y hacer 2 cads*; rep ** hasta el final de la vta. Unir al primer pto de la vta con 1 pe. Cortar el hilo y rematar.

Vuelta 4: Cambiar a hilo color rosa, insertar la aguja en el espacio entre cualquiera 2 cads de la vta anterior para coger la hebra y hacer 2 cads (cuentan como el primer pa del primer 3-pa-tog de esta vta) y hacer 2-pa-tog para completar este primer 3-pa-tog; hacer 3 cads; *saltar el siguiente pa, hacer 1 3-pa-tog en el siguiente espacio de cads y hacer 3 cads*; rep ** hasta terminar la vta. Unir al primer pto de la vta con 1 pe. Cortar el hilo y rematar.

Vuelta 5: Cambiar a hilo color blanco, insertar la aguja en cualquiera de los espacios de 3 cads de la vta anterior para coger hebra, hacer 1 cad + 2 pb; *hacer 3-cad-picot+pb en el siguiente 3-pa-tog de la vuelta prev, y hacer 3 pb en el siguiente espacio de 3 cads*; rep ** hasta el final de la vta. Unir al primer pto de la vta con 1 pe. Cortar el hilo y rematar. ¡Y hecho!

Hacer tantos círculos como necesites para rodear tu capazo.

Por último, coser los círculos de ganchillo al capazo y añadir las borlas.
