How to create a Scandinavian style garden with Design bestseller

Spring is officially here! Are you looking forward to longer days, more sunshine and spending time outside as much as I do? I am still busy with different projects at home which I hope to finish before Summer and I am happy to have my small patio where I can catch the first rays of sunlight and dream about outdoor life and hopefully a Summer as long as we had last year.

It is no secret I have a preference for minimalism and functional design and I am mostly drawn to Scandinavian style which I love to combine with a good dose of black. I love to see my outdoor space as an extension of my home, with a place to relax, a dining area and of course some greens. With a minimal color scheme inside, I also love my outdoor space to have the same atmosphere.

With this in mind I was happy to collaborate with Design Bestseller and create two mood boards for a Scandinavian style garden. Design Bestseller recently launched their Dutch online store and I was happy to see so many of my favourite brands listed, and while looking into the garden section I even found some brands that were new to me which I am happy to include in my selection.

Lounge area

I think every outdoor space needs a small lounge area to sit in the sun or to chill on warm Summer nights. I have different options depending on my mood and the time of the day, when sunny I love to take out my black daybed, and for the shorter moments I am outside I love to use my all time favourite hammock.

Ideal would be an outdoor lounge set if you have the space and a set that is weather-resistant and can handle a spoiled drink or two is what you should look for in this case. When scrolling through the garden pages, the level lounge sofa by Danish label Houe caught my eye. I had not heard off the brand before and the minimal design and simple lines certainly made me change my mind about the traditional lounge set. Elements can be optimally combined with each other and expanded with a middle section creating a Scandinavian chic lounge corner.

Dinner outside!

I think we all dream about gathering more often with family and friends, long tables, white table linen and lots of food and laughter. I have some great memories from my childhood when we visited our French family in Summer and had dinner in the garden of their countryside home and one of our former family homes had a huge garden where we started each day with breakfast.

My own patio is way to small for a large table but nevertheless I love to prepare a good meal and arrange a table setting with some nice objects at the small round table I have, a table that is big enough to sit with a few people and to work outside.
