It’s always someone’s birthday. You need a gift. And with the gift comes a card. And someone has to write nice stuff on the card. This is hard sometimes. Really hard to come up with a a lot of meaningful words to fill the card. So why not take a mini card? There is only space for the essential. “Happy birthday! We love you.” Isn’t that enough sometimes?
For these moments I created these agate slice mini envelopes. You just need to print, cut, glue, add a simple white mini card – cut a piece of paper into the right size – write a few words and you’re done.
The watercolour agate slices on the mini envelopes serve as beautiful gift decoration as well, another thing you don’t have to worry about.
I am fascinated by agate slices, they are such a versatile design item with stunning colour patterns. I decided to try to capture these natural miracles in watercolour. And I like them so much, that I had to make printables for you.
There are always occasions for gifts, and therefore for cards and envelopes. That’s why I decided to make mini envelope printables and decorate them with these lovely agate watercolour paintings. I hope you like them as much as I do.

To make your mini envelopes you need:
- printed templates (to download click on the photos above)
- glue stick
- pretty self-adhesive labels or washi tape
1 – Cut out the envelopes, try to cut within the lines to avoid dark edges.
2 – Crease the sides and the flap. You can align the ruler with the marks on the corners and fold over the ruler for a straight fold. Open up all creases again.
3 – Fold in the smallest flap, apply glue. Then fold in the widest side (1), apply glue on the edge and glue the shorter side (2) on top.
4 – After inserting a card, close the envelope with a pretty sticker or tape. Done.
Did you make all four of the mini envelopes? Which one is your favourite agate slice? I like the blue the most, or the orange. Pink is also nice. But I can’t say I like the green one the least…
