Have you been looking for a tiny little felt bunny pattern to sew? Today is your day! My kids love everything small and I wanted to think of something to sew that would fit in an Easter egg. They use up the tiniest of felt scraps and are so fun to make. I could see them strung on to necklaces, tucked into tiny little beds, or hanging out in an overall pocket. The little felt rabbits in our house have been driving in toy fire trucks, hiding in Lego castles, and snuggling at bedtime!

Good luck trying to keep your kids or grandkids away from them while you sew them, it was a huge battle with mine!

When I was working on this pattern, we still had all our stuff in storage. I didn’t want to buy any plastic and only found a few eggs at Goodwill so I tried some wooden Easter eggs off Etsy*, aren’t they beautiful?

They are all hand sewn, so no sewing machine required. I use super simple stitches in this pattern, so it is great for a confident beginner (the cutting tiny pieces and stitching tiny pieces require some experience or lots of patience).

I use Fabri-Solvy™  so you stitch through it, use it to cut the pattern pieces out, then wash it away. You can see more about that embroidery pattern transfer process in this post; some of my testers used plain old freezer paper as well.

I think my next set will be all in pastels maybe, I stuck to relatively traditional body colors for this bunch.

Step 4- Use a running stitch to appliqué it on to the bunny’s belly. Now is the time to WASH OFF the Fabri-Solvy™  on both front and back. While using very hot water, gently agitate with your nail as needed, then blot and let dry before proceeding.

Step 5- Making sure to have the tail stitching facing out, stitch the front and back together. Pause with 3/4 of the seam done, gently adding stuffing into the face and body (hemostats pictured here). Finish stitching the front and back together, knot, and you’re done!
