We learn more about linen house bedouin SOCIETE – leaders in premium sustainable manchester in Australia.

bedouin SOCIETE founder Virginia Feldtman’s father was a textile chemist, so as you’d expect, Virginia’s formative years were spent surrounded by wool, yarn and fabric. Her childhood has since shaped a lifelong passion and established career in textiles. First interested in pursuing a career in architecture and interior design, Virginia soon discovered her love of fashion, forging a career at Calvin Klein for several years before establishing bedouin SOCIETE in 2011.

Virginia noticed a gap in the market for an Australian brand that offered pure linen as a natural, sustainable textile, setting out to create a brand that honours the sacred rituals of sleeping and bathing and our connection to mother nature.

The arts, sculpture and architecture all inspire Virginia’s collections. “One might ask how a raw abstract stone sculpture by Eduardo Chillida could be an inspiration for a soft wool piece – the answer is simple,” she says. “Textures and sculpture co-relate to me, and I see the textiles as fluid, sculptural pieces that also have a practical and functional purpose.”

Pure linen is the currency of the house, thoughtfully chosen by Virginia for its robustness, versatility and low environmental impact. “It’s a fibre that doesn’t require pesticides to flourish, and it’s also recyclable, therefore kind to us and our earth,” Virginia says. Each product is carefully designed with longevity in mind, minimising landfill and the need for repurchasing.

bedouin SOCIETE offers a curated range of bespoke bedding and towel collections, each designed to mix and match effortlessly with one another. One of their biggest ranges is the Minerale collection, derived from the yarn of flax plants in the growing regions of Belgium and Northern France. Available in 31 soft hues, the Minerale collection cultivates a sense of serenity.
