Great land. Great architecture. Great living. In an est exclusive, we explore the release of three unique films by Rob Mills Architecture & Interiors (RMA).

As one of Australia’s most successful architects, Rob Mills isn’t afraid of making a contribution to the design discourse. While his work is luxurious, daring and dynamic, his guiding philosophy has always been elemental. Ocean House in Lorne is a testament to this. At RMA when land is not presented as part of the design process, the practice searches for rare and unique land that will satisfy the client’s needs and inspire design, whether located in the wilderness by the coast, within the countryside or even surrounded by an urban environment. For RMA land is hugely influential to ensuring their architecture is long and lasting. “We believe great land is the foundation of great architecture, interior design, art and objects which enrich our lives and enhance our living experience,” says Mills.

The Land

“This is our purpose. To unlock value- in the land, in the brief, in the collaborative journey and in our own expertise of luxury residential design.”

Byron Residence

In addition to the films, RMA’s latest architectural project, a ground-breaking residence in Byron Bay incorporates Mill’s signature use of drama, curves, lines, light and a reflection of the qualities of the land.

“Our design for this house in Byron Bay would not be possible elsewhere. It is uniquely influenced by the land upon which it will be built. Our client’s energy and intuition empowered us to create the architecture you see. It encapsulates everything I have aspired to.”
