Jellyfish embroidery by Yuliya Kucherenko

Enjoy the beauty of the ocean with Yuliya Kucherenko’s sea-inspired embroideries. Using a combination of thread painting, needle felting, and beading, she creates dynamic jellyfish embroideries. Her painterly stitching style captures the fluidity of these creatures as their tendrils extend beyond the hoop. Because they are not tacked to any fabric, the embroideries evoke the same freedom as their inspirations.

The styling of the embroideries is important here, too. To further the feeling that these are jellyfish, Yuliya has placed the tulle-stretched fabric hoops against layers of blue and green tulle and included seashells to create her own fabric ocean.
