On their property here in Cefalu (or more specifically, the little town of Mazzaforno beach), the couple present a beautifully-designed villa that sleeps 8 as well as a charming rustic farmhouse that sleeps 4. Pared-back design and white-washed walls make the feeling here easy and breezy. With plenty of natural light and hints of mid-century modern furniture and design, Elaia Villa is a beautiful place to spend some relaxed days.
We’re particularly drawn to the large hexagon-tiled floors; the huge terrace with its sun beds and outdoor dining table; and the corner bedroom upstairs with its large wrap-around windows and natural light that streams in. Each room has been uniquely designed by Marco and Viviana. The bedrooms are located on the first floor, while the living room and kitchen are downstairs where there is direct access to the outdoor terrace.
Cefalu, which is known for its Arab-Norman cathedral, a 12th-century fortress-like structure with elaborate Byzantine mosaics and soaring twin towers, is only a short 5-10min drive away. There you will find plenty of cute restaurants and bars and a popular beach. The nearby sandy beach of Mazzaforno though is only a 10min walk away. But really, why would you leave? With steps that lead down from Elaia Villa’s terrace to the sea below, you have your own private beach here anyway!
